When Reluctant Genius was unveiled in 2008, it was a chance for Tracy to reach out to a larger audience. Would people care enough to read it, to heed her advice, to really want to understand and read between the lines…was it a waste of time, too much work and possibly not worth it? Could she have spent her time doing something else, perhaps gardening or painting? Absolutely. But she chose to do something that took her outside her comfort zone, something so many of us are afraid to do, and she put her money where her mouth is! Tracy teaches you about yourself and self worth. She took a big chance with Reluctant Genius, and with that chance reaped many of its readers great rewards including herself.
Her comedic writing and brutal honesty coupled with her 17+ years of experience in TV has given her amazing insight, into the good, the bad and the very ugly side of (insert YOUR occupation here). Her professional background in TV is where she has gained a majority of her business savvy sense, but no matter what YOUR profession, Reluctant Genius doesn’t discriminate when advising its readers with topics that deal with everyday work-related situations, some of which you can even apply to your personal relationships.
I continue to read RG and hold my breath in anticipation for what’s to come next! I don’t have to sit there and think to myself, “That’s the way it is” or “…am I the only person that feels this way?” I actually have more control than I ever thought and I didn’t realize this until Reluctant Genius was born. With knowledge came a strength and power, a greater self-esteem and self worth, and before you know it, the world is your oyster. Read, Be a Peer, Not a Peon and you’ll know exactly what I am talking about.
Tracy continues to inspire me with her writings and her personal shares. I highly recommend Reluctant Genius to everyone, you chose the reason, she’ll provide the solution. And by the way, TMZ does stand for Thirty Mile Zone, it stands for Tracy Mazuer Zone. See you on the other side!

“Tracy Mazuer’s coaching skills are entirely responsible for elevating my career and status in the television industry. Tracy has recognized and helped to define a vital yet consistently overlooked part of building and maintaining a successful career in the entertainment industry – how to successfully market yourself.
I have worked in television as a Producer/Director for many years. Prior to discovering Tracy’s abilities, I promoted myself so poorly that...(read more of this testimonial)
"In a town that really has no rules, its nice to know that there's someone out there on your side. The stories use the entertainment business as a background, but all the examples and lessons are applicable to anyone in the working world. And coming from someone that has been getting advice from the Reluctant Genius for over 8 years, let me just say...Its worth the read!" - David Tobin, Producer
"Tracy has been a great coach and mentor to me in my current job search. Having worked for the same companies for many years, my idea of networking was to call my past employers and beg for work. With Tracy’s help I have re-energized my job search, making new contacts and taking meetings more successfully. Her positive and pro-active approach has given me a new way to “work the room.” I feel more in control and positive in meetings than I have in years. Thank you, Tracy." -J.G. Writer/Producer

Tracy has a way of teaching you something without pointing her finger, being condescending or coming at it from a “I know it all” attitude, because frankly she doesn’t and nobody does, but she admits it, and that is what makes her “real” and most certainly approachable! Tracy has a way with words and people, truly a gift and surely something that can’t be taught, but she treats you like her equal. She has always been my boss, never vice versa but it’s always seemed as though we were fighting the same battle and we were at war side by side. (read more...)
